American music star Kanye Omari West made history on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Los Angeles forum with the release of the video for his controversial song Famous. If a similar idea is executed in Nigeria, here’s a list of celebs whose N.ud3 wax images should very easily set the internet on fire.
In case you missed it, the clip shows Kanye and wife Kim Kardashian N@.kkd and in the centre of a long bed with crumpled white bed sheets, alongside 10 other celebrities cutting across entertainment into politics.
The infamous video for Famous also features Taylor Swift, Amber Rose, Anna Wintour, Donald Trump, Bill Cosby, George Bush, Ray J, Rihanna and Chris Brown.
[irp]The lyrics of the song are disturbing on several levels, the part wherein he referred to Taylor Swift being a major situation for the 26-year-old Bad Blood singer and songwriter.
“I feel like me and Taylor might still have S3@.x:’ / Why? I made that bitch famous,” Kanye rapped in the song.
Following its release, Swift’s camp reacted angrily to the rapper’s actions and it’s remained unclear where the situation’s headed, even though Kanye took to Twitter to make a joke out of everything on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
“Can somebody sue me already #I’llwait.”
He however deleted the tweet shortly after. Recall that West and Swift have quite a bit of a chequered history.
Since 2009, both American stars have had issues following his outrage on stage when she was presenting her acceptance speech as she received the award for Best Female Video Category for her song, You Belong With Me, which edged out Beyonce’s Single Ladies.
Responding to a statement from Swift’s camp, West tweeted on Friday, June 24 saying he contacted Swift and she thought the idea funny and gave her blessings before the song dropped. He wrote: “I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings.”
The video’s continued to generate buzz, with George Bush, Chris Brown and Taylor Swift reacting thus far.
Though a sensitive display, Kanye’s art in Famous has gotten everyone talking and raving.
It is no news that controversy is a huge part of entertainment around the world. The industry thrives on issues of this sort and will always embrace them, given their out-of-the-box elements.
