Sex is fun, there’s no doubt about it. But, of course, the same positions all the time will begin to feel routine.
If you are ready to break out of your rut, there’s a lot of fun to be had. And fun can mean whatever you want it to be, from acrobatic to just doing something that makes you feel silly. But manage your expectations. “Let’s just be clear with one thing first… Just because it’s fun, doesn’t mean it’s good,” says dating and sex expert Laurel House. Acrobatic, circus-style sex can be a lot of fun and enjoyable for both men and women, but that doesn’t mean that either you or she will get off. “That being said, just because you think it’s fun doesn’t mean that she does. And, conversely, what she finds fun might not be super exciting for you. She might think it’s really fun to be thrown around, or for you to stand up and hold her while doing her,” says House. But for you it feels more like a workout.
What we see in porn also looks like it can be a fun time, but remember all is not what appears on our DVD. “Sex that looks like what is in a porn can be really fun. But it might not be incredibly satisfying. It might look sexy, it might feel sexy, but it might not lead to an orgasm. And sometimes, although it isn’t physically that enjoyable, just the idea of it is enough to get you off,” says House.
And then there is sex in sexy places, and that’s fun too. “Sex on the balcony, sex in a pool, sex up against a window, sex on the beach, sex in the bathroom, sex at a party, sex where you really shouldn’t be having sex, sex in public… though they might not be physically satisfying, the idea of it might be enough to get you off. Or you might not get off, and neither will she, but it certainly was a lot of fun and made a memory!” says House.
1. Bridge and Tunnel
Commuting has never been as fun as it is when reimagined here. To start, stand up, one behind the other. “The partner in front spreads their legs and bends over placing their hands on the floor. The other partner holds onto their hips and slides in from behind,” says Dr. Jess.
2. Against the Wall
Every hot movie has an against-the-wall scene, and for good reason. “This is a position my character, Ashley, in Submission has a lot of fun with. Being held up against a wall by your partner requires a lot of trust in him. It also offers the chance to be face to face, which is really intimate and hot,” says actress Ashlynn Yennie, star of Submission, a new series about BDSM on Showtime.
3. The Lover
With “The Lover,” the man sits at the end of the bed and the woman straddles him. Both of these allow deep penetration and extra skin-to-skin contact, says Nick Hawk, star of Showtime’s reality show Gigolos and author of Sexual Positions.
